On Verdantia Prime, a newly colonized tropical planet rich in forerunner technology, ONI launches a secretive exploration of Forerunner ruins. They accidentally release dormant Flood specimens from a sealed forerunner lab which lead to a catastrophic outbreak. The UNSC scrambled to evacuate the population, and ONI was censoring any news of the flood outbreak. UNSC forces stationed in orbit swiftly responded to the distress calls. They descended to the planet to confront the sudden Flood threat. The UNSC fights desperately to prevent the Flood infestation from taking over the planet. Their mission was to halt the catastrophic infestation and avoid its expansion beyond Verdantia Prime's borders. The battle became a race against time to safeguard the planet from the spreading menace of the Flood.
